We’re big on celebrations in my home and make a point to notice half birthdays as well as the birthdays themselves. I’m finding that in this pandemic season, the marking of events feels especially important. So far, both of my children have had their birthdays during the pandemic, and while they both had wonderful celebrations full of love and joy, it doesn’t change the fact that they looked differently than we otherwise would have planned. Another big event (for me) during the pandemic? The release of my book Modern Scandinavian Baking: A Cookbook of Sweet Treats and Savory Bakes.
I’ll admit, I was in a funk about the pandemic spoiling Celebratory Plans A & B. But it didn’t take long to realize that the timing was imperfectly perfect. During a season in which “quarantine baking” became a thing, I discovered that it actually gave me joy to know that the book was providing some delight in an otherwise challenging and anxiety-ridden time.
This week marks the 6-month anniversary of the book’s release, and I want to thank each of you who have purchased a copy for yourself or a loved one.
With the holiday season around the corner, I know that some of you are planning to give copies of the book as Christmas presents. I want to extend to you a way to make the gift extra special:
If you order five copies or more of Modern Scandinavian Baking between today and October 22, 2020, I will personally sign bookplates and personalize them with the name of your recipient, so you can glue them inside.
To redeem your personalized and signed bookplates, just click here to fill out a form. Once again, orders must be placed between October 12 and end of day on October 22, 2020, and forms must be received by October 23, 2020. I want to make sure to send these to you in time for gift-giving!
